On the hills of Langa, Roero and Monferrato, became Unesco world heritage for its grapevine landscape, we farm the Nocciola Piemontese since XIX century. The hazelnut variety of Piemonte is rounded with three lobed that obtain the denomination of Protected Geographical Indication (PGI). The Nocciola Piemontese is full of nutritional proprieties, vitamin E and antioxidant. It’s usually used for pastry making and for the confectionery. With the encounter between the Nocciola Piemontese and chocolate are born sweets internationally renowned as the Gianduiotto, chocolate candy from Turin, the capital of chocolate pastry chefs. But the Nocciola Piemontese is used as base for a lot of preparation: from cakes to biscuits. Today there are almost 15 thousand hectares under hazelnuts in Piemonte.
